My passion for woodworking began in the late '60s in the basement of our split level in Lincroft, NJ. I was about 10-12 years old and started making plaques out of pine boards. We would take a board about 12" x 15" or so and rasp the edges and apply a decal of an eagle or something and sell them.
Later, after I married my lovely wife Fran, we had a small detached garage with our first home in Norfolk, Va. After a few years we moved to Chesapeake and built a larger garage and acquired a few more tools. Now we are located in Suffolk, Va and built a 18X22 foot wood shop. We are well equipped with many modern machines and tools and make RV Flag Mounts, wooden signs, small crafts and furniture.
Originally I would nail together knotty pine boards to make small tables and potato bins and Over the years I have continually researched and educated myself on design and construction of furniture, signs and crafts. Now I am able to make nice furniture and have the confidence to design and construct just about anything. Probably the best piece of furniture I have ever made is the jewelry armoire I made for Fran.
